Even if you are brushing and flossing your teeth perfectly at home, professional bi-annual dental cleanings are still vital. A teeth cleaning at our Manhattan East Village office will give our dental team the opportunity to identify any areas of concern in the mouth that might require treatment and catch any concerning issues as early as possible. Using state-of-the-art equipment, a bi-annual professional cleaning eliminates built-up tartar and plaque and then polishes the enamel for a brighter, healthier smile. During your treatment, you can ask for tips on better home oral care and discover any areas that need more attention at home. Getting a professional dental cleaning is a vital step in maintaining your oral health, so make an appointment for yourself and your family at our New York, NY location.

The ADA (American Dental Association) recommends people schedule professional dental cleanings two times per year. Infants should have a dental exam before their first birthday and, after that, we will help you determine when your child is old enough for their next appointment. A professional dental cleaning may help you avoid cavities since plaque buildup, the biggest cause of tooth decay, is removed. A cleaning will also remove stains and tartar on your teeth. If you want to brighten your smile, freshen your breath, boost your health, and save money in the long run, schedule a dental cleaning for your whole family at our New York City office.

Updated [5/13/2024] They continue to make great strides on improving customer service and I’m happy to say I stuck by them during the transition phase. I’ll keep coming to see the team at EVDC!! Thanks Updated [3/23/2023]: The office manager called me and assured me they will note my concerns and look to conduct better care of patients moving forward. I felt she was sincere and have since updated my review. I hope they continue to work on their patient care / Customer service as they are a vital health care facility in the community. Updated 1/30/2023 - Not sure what’s happened at East Village Dental however I think it’s a change in the management team that handles customer service. While they have updated the way they conduct business when you call they rarely pick up the phone, they do not return calls, they don’t have an emergency line for concerns post surgery. After an uncovering I developed canker sores and called them for a follow up they told me they’d call me back and instead I went the entire weekend in pain (see attached photo at your discretion). I did use warm water and salt to soothe the area but maybe they could have prescribed something to alleviate the pain which led to several days of headaches. There was little concern about my pain/discomfort which I’m very surprised from a place that I really liked and highly recommended just 1-2 years ago. After my crowns are in place I’m not sure I’ll go to them for a cleaning letting alone any serious oral surgery. Until they get a team that’s actually concerned about the customer/Patient stay away from EVD.

After Juda, the technician took X-rays of my teeth, I knew I wanted to write a review. She was so kind to me. I warned her that I gag a lot when I get X-rays, she reassured me that it's very common and I shouldn't worry. She was very personable and we shared our tattoo stories with each other. Our conversation really distracted me. Dr. Shah, the dentist's exam was very good. She was very attentive, listened and addressed all of my teeth concerns and assured me that I will get all of the necessary work I need. She has a peaceful demeanor which I need because I'm quite nervous at the dentist. Ruzana, the hygienist was very nice and very thorough. She complimented me that I brush my teeth well. I haven't gotten a great cleaning like she gave me in a very long time! Finally, Yvonne, who worked at front desk was very efficient. She's the first face you see when you walk into the bright and clean office and she greeted my son and I pleasantly and professional. I was grateful that my friend referred me to this great dental office!

Friendly front desk staff, hygienist was thorough with the cleaning, and professional. The dentist was great. I gave it a 4 star because it's impossible to talk to the front desk via phone.

We will start your dental cleaning by removing the plaque and tartar deposits on your enamel, which can be hard to remove at home with just daily brushing and flossing. Advanced equipment is used to scale buildup without affecting the enamel. First, a device with ultrasonic technology addresses bigger areas of tartar and plaque with a lubricating mist and high-speed vibrations. Then, handheld instruments such as a curette or scaler will be used to remove the remaining pieces. Each tooth needs to be individually scaled to get all the tartar and plaque. After your teeth have been cleaned, your teeth will be carefully polished to strengthen the enamel and remove stains. If needed or requested, a fluoride treatment can be done after your cleaning.
